OBJECTIVES
1. To identify the peoples whom have suffered the disastrous consequences
of slavery, colonialism, wars of conquest and post-slavery racism since the
1400s.
2. To discuss the historic responsibility of Nations towards the peoples
whom they colonized or reduced to slavery.
3. To arrive at an universal position on Reparations and Compensation for
the disastrous consequences of slavery, colonialism and wars of conquest.
4. To submit the conclusions of the "International Meeting of Experts" to
the United Nations General Assembly for discussions.
5. To use the conclusions of the "International Meeting of Experts" for
in-depth discussions at the proposed "International Conference on Reparations
and Compensation for Violations of Human Rights during Slavery, Colonialism
and Wars of Conquest; 29 November to 04 December 2004".
Presentations at the International Meeting of Experts will be 30 minutes
each. Sessions will include the presentation of 3 papers followed by a 60
minute group discussion of the papers presented.
Papers must incorporate Objectives 1-3 under the following themes:
Enslavement of the Indigenous People of the Canary Islands by the Portuguese
from 1424.
The Americas-European Slave Trade of Indigenous Peoples by the Europeans
from 1492.
The Inter-American Slave Trade of Indigenous Peoples by the Europeans from
1511.
The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
The Trans-Saharan Slave Trade.
The Trans-Indian Ocean Slave Trade.
The African-European Slave Trade by the Ottoman of Turkey.
The Americas-Australia [Tasmania] Slavery of Indigenous Peoples by the British.
The Australian and Torres Strait Islanders Slavery.
The Pacific Islands-Peru Slave Trade.
The Puerto Rico-Hawaii Slavery by the United States.
Contemporary forms of slavery.
Provide the following in ENGLISH:
(1) A one page single-space abstract.
(2) A one page single-space outline describing your work on reparations
and compensation for massive and flagrant violations of human rights during
slavery, colonialism and wars of conquest.

(d) Address
(e) Phone
(f) Fax
(g) Email
(h) Theme the presentation fall under
(i) Format: slide, overhead, power point, etc.
Deadline for abstracts: 03 March 2003.
Notification of acceptance of abstracts: 03 April 2003.
Authors whose abstracts have been selected shall be required to submit their
papers in ENGLISH
before 05 May 2003.
